Animals is a great album, and I agree w/ you on your opinion regarding Roger Waters musical masturbation of The Wall. However, DSOTM is a masterpiece. Did you hear it too much and get burnt out? It is a touchstone of late 20th century culture.

Wolfgangs has had a healthy sized fragment of this show forever (1h 24m) and just based on that I agree it's an incredible show.

Roger looks kike he really, really wants to be back in the club at the end, but no love for him. :-(

E- thanks AR, that's like with a l not a k: and definitely not a pejorative slur at Jewish people.

Oh dear. Bad typo up there ... yikes ...

Animals may have been my number one album in sheer number of times played till I found the GOGD. DSOTM was great, of course, too, and definitely a touchstone of 20th c culture. Were there any dorm rooms where it wasn't played incessantly, musical generation after musical generation?

Animals features what is probably Gilmour's best guitar playing on any record. He totally dominates the album. The solos aren't quite as hummable (and the songs not as short) as the radio-friendlier stuff, so I think it gets less love.

It helps to see the album as a whole, where they keep upping the tension until the last two minutes of Sheep, at which point Gilmour just blows the doors off. Very satisfying.
